Overview

Safe Routes to School (SRTS) is a nationwide program aimed at making walking, cycling and wheeling to school safer and more accessible for primary and post-primary students. Launched in March 2021, the program is funded by the Department of Transport and supported by the Department of Education, in partnership with An Taisce and the National Transport Authority (NTA).

ITM Digital developed a modern, mobile-first website for SRTS, ensuring easy navigation and high functionality across all devices. With clear call-to-actions and a user-friendly design, the site effectively guides visitors to key information and resources while boosting the program's online presence.

Project Scope

Previously hosted on the Green Schools Ireland website, Safe Routes to School needed its own dedicated digital space to highlight projects and provide access to its extensive resources. In collaboration with Safe Routes to School, ITM Digital undertook the development of a brand-new website to enhance the program’s online presence.

Our goal was to create a responsive, mobile-first website that would emphasise accessibility and usability for a diverse range of users, from students to educators. We implemented a user-friendly CMS, ensuring that content updates could be easily managed. Key focuses also included optimising the site for search engines (SEO) and integrating security measures, all while keeping the visual design modern and aligned with Safe Routes to School's mission.
