You could be eligible right now for a Voucher of up to €2,500 for an E-commerce website under the Local Enterprise Office and National Digital Strategy.
Under the updated ‘Online Trading Voucher Scheme’, the Local Enterprise Office now offers assistance to small businesses by providing a grant that covers 90% of the cost for a new e-commerce website, with a maximum of €2,500 funding. The funding aims to help companies during this lockdown period, by encouraging people to move their business online.
In receiving this Voucher, the cost of getting an e-commerce website designed for you will be considerably less than ever before. In only being required to pay 10% of the cost, your business can remain sustainable online with the creation of your very own e-commerce website. Applicants who have previously received an online trading voucher are permitted to apply for a second voucher.
What are the requirements for this grant?
The Local Enterprise Office stipulates that in order to be eligible for an ‘Trading Online Voucher’, your business must:
- Currently have a very limited e-commerce presence or none at all.
- Have a turnover which is less than two million
- Have a maximum of ten employees or less.
- Be officially trading for at least six months.
- Have your registered business address within the region of the Local Enterprise Office that you’re making an application to.
Remember that this grant is specifically designed for e-commerce websites and not brochure websites, or offline trading platforms. The key element of an e-commerce online trading platform is that a financial transaction is being made to your company online.
